Nurturing Health Since Four Decades
Popularly recognized as Hans Laboratory and Ganga Blood Bank, we have been dedicated to serving the people of Gadag for nearly 40 years.
The legacy continued as our Ganga Blood Bank delivered quality services for 28 years.
In 1981, Dr. Pradeep S. Khona, the sole pathologist in Gadag, spearheaded the establishment of our pioneering laboratory and blood bank services.
Proudly extending beyond Gadag, we have established sub-branches in Hubballi, becoming a beacon of health across Karnataka.

Over the years, we've tied up with CMC Vellore for external quality control and we follow Bio-Rad for internal quality control as well. Our Lab was NABL accredited for HCV RNA RTPCR Testing. We are also ISO 9001/2015 certified.

Education:
- MBBS from JN Medical College, Belgaum
- DCP from KMC Hubballi.
Services:
- Established “HANS LABORATORY” in 1981, the first-ever pathology lab at Gadag.
- Started “Ganga Blood Bank,” the first blood bank service offered at Gadag, which served for 25 years and has been instrumental in saving numerous lives.
- Doctor, other than providing laboratory and blood banking services , made a significant contributor in spreading awareness about HIV and AIDS in and around Gadag district.
Expertise & Experience:
- A pioneer in providing knowledge of AIDS and HIV by attending an international conference at Taj-Mumbai in 1996, Delivered 119 “AIDS Awareness” lectures in and around Gadag.
- Never Compromised with Commitment to sincerity, dedication, punctual service, and accurate reports even at the age of 68.
- In the year 2019, When Dr. Bhavana joined hands with Hans Laboratory was upgraded to “Hans Hi-Tech Lab”.

- Completed schooling and PUC at Raichur, after securing excellent rank in CET exam, secured MBBS medical seat at Navodaya Medical College Raichur.
- Completed MD Pathology from Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Medical College and Hospital, Sattur, Dharwad with outstanding results, standing highest in her college.
- Successfully passed post-MD DNB exams at Armed Forces Medical College, Pune on her first attempt.
- In 2019 decided to join Hans Laboratory, led by her father-in-law Dr. Pradeep S Khona to upgrade it to a tertiary medical laboratory.
